When Autumn Burns

Autumn sets fire to the green
And red commands the state of all
The seasons fight in might for sight
Their only wish is to be seen
Summer blazes meet fall hazes
And she marches her walk of gloat alight
These falling leaves pass brazenly by
Like flames that live to scream and cry
Attention seeking, assurance fleeing
Tip-toeing through the daunting trees
Like they don't know
Which path will hold
These falling leaves
Once so bright, so gold
Begin to wilt and unwillingly fold
The wind picks up
The trees turn bare
While white coats the ground of fare and fair
As the last leaf falls, by and bye
Winter sings its song awry
Whilst we blink, in a fleeting moment
Autumn dies, as Winter tries
